On October 15, 2002, the Keith McHeffey Foundation broke ground on a complete renovation of the ballfield and park area of Piping Rock in Rumson, in memory of our local citizens who perished in the attacks of September 11, 2001.
The renovation included a permanent memorial to the local victims, as well as an updated playground area for the children.
The park is used on a regular basis by a variety of sports teams and community groups from both Rumson and Fair Haven, and its revitalization has been an invaluable asset to our communities.
An opening ceremony was held on May 8, 2004 which was attended by over 250 people, and was an opportunity to thank all of the contractors and vendors that gave their time and service to project.
